Q is for Quinoa

Seriously, what else can I come up with for a Q?!

This is the Quinoa that is in my pantry.

In my opinion, this is the most useless and tastless grain know to man! It was purchased for a blackbean tart recipie in one of my Mark Bittman cookbooks (I highly recommend him!). The filling was delicious, the quinoa crust, ICK!

Of course, I am too cheap to throw it away and I figure there MUST be something edible I can do with it, I just haven't found it yet. If anyone has a suggestion, I'd love to hear it!

And, with that, I'm ABCaught up! Yay!

It's a very clever Q, though. I'm totally stuck on mine.

Can you cook it like oatmeal or cream of wheat? I vaguely remember seeing it suggested as a hot cereal.

Hi, hi, I found your blog from the With This String group on Rav.

I have the same opinion of quinoa (and my fiance loooves it, weirdo) but these two recipes intrigued me. I haven't tried them yet.
Quinoa clusters (remind me of granola bars)

Good luck!
